HEAT PUMPS

The most common name for Heat pumps is "Geo Thermal", however this only describes one of the available technologies in the area of Heat Pumps.

Heat pumps are used to reverse the natural tendency for heat to flow from hotter to cooler. Heat pumps force heat to flow in the other direction with the addition of a small amount of high quality drive energy, usually provided by electricity.

Heat pumps offer an energy efficient way of providing heating and cooling in the home, as they acquire over 70% of their heat energy from free and renewable resources. The ground, air and water around us contain useful heat energy. Heat pump technology extracts heat from the ground, air or water and transfers this energy into the home. The energy is continually replenished by both the sun and natural reservoirs of molten rock and steam below the earth’s crust.
