Biomass boilers work on the same principles as a normal boiler but instead of burning the rapidly diminishing supply of fossil fuels biomass boilers burn wood chip, wood pellet or cereals or a combination of fuels.
Biomass boilers can be connected to virtually any existing heating and hot water system. Some biomass boilers are designed to burn a single biomass product such as wood pellets whilst others burn a selection of biomass fuel such as wood chip, cereals and logs.
Biomass boilers are extremely versatile giving you the flexibility to choose which biomass fuel to use depending on availability and price. In general biomass fuels are significantly cheaper than fossil fuels.
As biomass fuels burn cleanly and don’t produce smoke they are permitted for use in smoke controlled areas throughout the country.
