A Solar Hot water system works by using the sun’s rays to heat the water stored in your Hot water Cylinder in the Hot Press.
Non sustainable heating systems work by using a combination of an electric element and a "radiator" to heat your hot water.
Both these systems require energy derived from carbon based fuels.
Solar systems add a third option to the mix - the sun.
We are not interested in selling systems based on theoretical sales figures, or based on data from the solar panel manufacturer of what the system can achieve in "ideal" test conditions, so we have set up a live monitoring system on one of our solar installations right here in Co. Cork.
This data is available in "Real Time" on this website. Click on the link to the right of the page to see it.
You can see for yourself that Solar energy is available, and in fact relatively plentiful, in Ireland.
Obviously the fraction of your hot water that is provided by solar energy - and therefore the eventual savings, in both a financial and Carbon footprint sense, will be dependent on each individual household’s water usage.
