We do not have any exclusive deals with single manufacturers of Solar Hot water systems. We have got relationships with a number of suppliers, so can advise what system is best for any individual case. We can also install systems that the client has sourced for themselves. To see a list of the suppliers with whom we do regular business please look at the links page.
We are happy to provide solutions for both new build houses and for retrofitting to existing houses.
These collectors (shown right) work by passing the Solar transfer fluid through a pipe that is inside a vacuum not unlike a thermos flask. This design ensures that the collector is not affected in any way by ambient temperatures or wind. These types of collectors have been shown to provide better efficiency in the winter months, but are less efficient in the summer months. Because of their design, Evacuated Tube Collectors can only be mounted "on Roof" that is to say that they are mounted above the existing roof system. This is less of a concern with retrofitting to existing houses.
These collectors (shown left) have a grid of pipe work sandwiched between a glazed front and an insulated rear panel. They look not unlike roof windows. Flat panel collectors can be mounted either "on roof" or "in roof". In roof mounting is a good solution for new builds where the cost of roofing the area where the panel is can be saved. These types of panels are less aesthetically intrusive, and work well with older buildings like the one shown in the photograph.
